It would take a lifetime to write an autobiography, therefore I’ve narrowed the bits about me into a few points that may or may not portray me properly. Naturally, being influenced by Chinese parents, the first thing that pops into my head to write about is my academic history. Right, so I attended all pre-college institutions in predominantly White schools, with splitter splatters of ethnic minorities. I had always performed well, until I discovered Counter-Strike my sophomore yr of high school. I wrote fictitious Dr. notes to escape school with my friends to play at Internet lounges, home, anywhere. Consequently, my grades plummeted, my mom and I battled like WWIII, and I was sent off to live with my brother in LA to attend Santa Monica College. After two yrs passed, I told my mom that I was applying to NYC. “You’re only moving to NYC if you go to Columbia.” “Fine, I’ll go to Columbia.” “OK, good luck (doubtful).” Not knowing what the heck Columbia was, I applied and miraculously got accepted, so I packed up and left. Then being the romantic sap I am, I fell for someone just before I left, and got caught in a net of emotional fury. I returned to LA shortly after to attend USC, then I graduated 2 years later. (we broke up for the last time 3 months later)
Modus Operandi. My approach to life is akin to a 5-year-old brat’s. I do what makes me happy and so far this MO has served me well. I explore options I have not tried, but when I realize that it’s not entirely or at all what I enjoy, I move on to something else. Though it’s hard to find something that I don’t enjoy. I believe I have a pretty high threshold for boredom, so if I leave, it has to be very boring. I have little to zero patience for bullcaca. But that’s not to say I won’t play along for a bit to entertain myself. I admit I am restless, calculatively impulsive, but all the while I am calm. I do every-so-often experience frenzies, but as any good human being, those episodes trigger the release of appropriate hormones, and thus my body eventually finds homeostasis. I want to experience all types of jobs. Thus far, I was at one point in time a Magic Mountain photographer (the annoying ones in the front of the gate), a Magic Mountain ticket tearer, a Chinese fastfood worker, a beauty supply saleswoman, a bank receptionist, a teller, an internet café manager, a commercial model, an IT Advisory Associate. I want to be a king crabber, graphic designer, English teacher, program leader for children, bar tender, waitress, personal assistant to a man so I can understand men better and become a better gf someday, and other stuff. I have a checklist of occupations, hehe.
My only fears are regret and not falling in love with the one person that I will grow with for the rest of our lives. I let the former guide my life, but keep the latter in the back of my mind, to influence wiser decisions. In that I mean I have a bursting heart of passion and love, but I can be contradictorily very black and white. I’ve made a lot of decisions, of which some are more drastic than others, that were based purely on my unconditional affection for him. Though, I can fall out love quickly if he’s a liar, or if it just doesn’t work out for one reason or another. You can say I don’t like wasting time, I date to marry, not to divorce.
I have three primary unwavering goals in my life. Despite what path, paths, U-turns, backspins, skips, leaps, or crawls I do to get there, I will attain them. The first, I want to meet a man and fall unconditionally in love with one another. A man man. Not one that whines and cries. But one that is comfortable in his own skin because he acknowledges his insecurities.
Second is my career. I will eventually return after my 2-year intl’ frolic to open up a beef stew noodle and dumpling shop so I can share my culinary joys with the world and meet people of all types of taste buds. I want to be very successful to influence positively, make some tiny change at least, then build my parents and big fat house so they can live on one end, and our family on the other. Hehe.
Third. I want to open a theatre workshop for underprivileged children, specifically Asian little ones. You’re surrounded by Asian adults who lack courage or will to express their opinions, especially before a crowd of people and in a world run by egos and influence, it’s important to have your voice heard as well. And the “asian parent syndrome” is the primary reason for this. We’re taught to be studious, “obedient,” because if we study hard, we get into good schools. If we work hard, we have steady income. Is that all to life there is? Really? Then we become meek professionals who find our more vocal peers getting promotions here, extra perks there, while we’re stuck behind our quiet cubicle being used and abused. So theatre will offer children a chance to explore different lives, perspectives, and speak before a crowd without thinking twice..and best of all, have fun doing it in a family/team environment.
Now that I’ve blathered enough to put anyone to sleep..
I have quite a number of bad habits, or good, however you may take them. I don’t maintain my nails well. I cut people off when they talk, but it’s great because through ex-bfs and friends, I’ve learned to become a better communicator! Not great, but slowly improving. I tend to leave half-finished drinks here and there. My room gets really messy before I go into a cleaning frenzy to make it sparkle. I have silent but deadlies, haven’t farted-farted in a long time unfortunately. One of my favorite sadistic things to do is let one out in the car with other passengers, blast the heater, then wait for reactions. I tease people to the bone, but I don’t mind if you do it to me. Hehe. I like pulling pranks. Scratch that, I thrive on pranks. I think humor is the omni-cure, even if I’m the only one laughing. But it’s easy to make me feel bad and apologize if your feelings are hurt. Body part names still make me giggle. I’m clumsy. It’s unusual for me not to trip over my knobby ankles. I have bruises and scrapes and scars to prove it. I can be super animated with flailing arms, so I’ve unwittingly smacked a few unsuspecting passersby. And my vice is food and wine. I don’t shop, or spend much except on electronics and food.
And there are a few positive sides to me. Only a hand full mind you. I listen well, even if it doesn’t look like I am. That “deer-in-the-headlights” look means I’m digesting your blablabla. And umm, I’m open to almost everything? And...that about sums up the + traits.

Favorite Cuisine: oh lordy...let's start with BBQ--all types, all specialties from all over the globe. ALL types. I’m a carnivorous beast. Love red wine, particularly cabinet sauvignon, no dessert wine (Tastes like syrup!). Ice wine, gewurztraminer, and riesling are tasty. I’m not even going to pretend that I’m a connoisseur of wine, quite the opposite actually. But I can tell the difference, to a small extent. I like champagne as well. Hard liquor makes me puke. I love hole in the walls, with a fancy shmancy restaurant every once-in-a-while. I love grapes, salt & watermelon, raisins, pineapple, fuji apples, Singaporean papayas, apples, asian pears. I love greasy carne pura burritos from El Taurino. niuromien, and Japanese pancakes from the blue-tiled restaurant in Little Tokyo of Los Angeles. I adore Mexican hot dogs from Downtown Los Angeles. Almost forgot bratwurst from Red Lion, salmon salad & salmon w/rice from Lala's, Indian food, Chinese food, BBQ of all sorts.. in fact, I'm planning a cross-country BBQ tour. Strawnana Berry shakes, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin pie, turon, goat cheese/beets risotto, goat cheese and salami, nutella, Greens + bars, Chinese teas, oatmeal-raisin cookies, girl scouts thin mints, and I'm getting really sleepy.

"Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth. I sat at a table where were rich food and wine in abundance, an obsequious attendance, but sincerity and truth were not; and I went away hungry from the inhospitable board. The hospitability was as cold as the ices." - T to the h-o-r-e-a-u
